Dr. Akerman grew up in Montreal where she completed a Bachelor of Science in Anatomy and Cell Biology at Mcgill University. She then completed her veterinary degree at the University of Minnesota. In 2022, Dr. Akerman moved to Ottawa with her husband and their cat, Dakota, where she has been working as a small animal general practitioner. She has a special interest in preventative care, internal medicine, and senior pet wellness. On her free time Dr. Akerman enjoys baking, doing crafts, and exploring new walking trails
